Merry Merry

I had a merry merry Christmas with my lovely friends surrounded. I have some snacks for them during this late night party (yes, our party started at 9pm!).
To make the party a little special, I have used my newly bought Martha Stewart paper punch to make these cute green and blue name tags on their wine glasses.

{Updated} Christmas eve dinner

Hello, Merry Christmas!

I am blessed to have my 2nd Christmas with my husband. This is our Christmas eve dinner. I shall share the recipe later.

Afterall, enjoy a happy day!
.00.00.00.00..00.00.00.00..00.00.00.00..00.00.00.00.
Hi I am back and here is the recipe.

Preparation

I have mustered my courage to host a Christmas party this year. Lots of preparation works have to be done. Today

1) Guest list is kinda confirmed.
2) House is vacuumed and cleaned.
3) Our Christmas wreath is now hanging at our door.

I enjoy the decoration part a lot. While I tied the wreath at my door, kids just stepped by, watched, talked and laughed. We were both excited!

I got so many inspirations from Martha, in particular, eco-friendly way to celebrate Christmas. I have used the apple green ribbon, which I saved it from the bouquet during our anniversary, for our wreath.

Btw, this is the same wreath we used last year. I have unplugged those glittered red balls and swtiched to green and gold.

Viva Red

Viva Red
Finally, I got a great afternoon and unpack my jewelry tool box... I have been trying to make some more casual work with wire art.  You may also try at home, it is very easy.
Material required:
Pliers (chain nose, round nose)
Wire Cutter
Your focal bead - I have chosen a bright red teardrop Swarvoski crystal.  To celebrate the New Year!
Chains
Lobster claw clasp
Some jump rings

Instructions
1 Cut 1'5in wire to make a traditional dangle with a loop.  Please have some length between the loop and the your focal bead
2 Wrap your wire around the focal bead and form a cone.  Remember to leave some space between so the bead can dangle.
3. End both ends of the chains with the jump rings
4 Attach the lobster clwas clasp
Da-la - DONE! Very easy!

A year with handmade

1. My booth 2. Me and Candice's booth 3. Libby's and Olivia's corners and their creations

Finally I have finished my X'mas Market and some custom orders. I think it will be a good end for 2009, my handmade year. It was grateful to be invited by Libby, a handmade artist to be in the X'mas Market at Amor Workshop. My creations are appreciated and valued. I was biting my nails during the market. I knew I did not have lots of fans at the local market. Few guests were expected to visit me... But, my booth was doing unexpectedly well. This is a feeling I never had.

I am confident for what I am doing. I can now say I am a bead jewelry maker / designer rather than a housewife.

Of course I met some brilliant handmade artists during the market. I have received fruitful opinions of producing more conceptual creations. (though I was a bit shocked) I disagreed that my creations are not handmade in appearance. Handmade can be sophisticated as well. It can be rustic in style but not in appearance. Handmade is craftsmanship of one's performing the best of beauty and taste.

I wish Hong Kong handmade market can be stronger. Handmade products should be consumed but not admired. I will work harder in 2010.

Fabric Envelopes

I have been a little lazy. Maybe it is because of the weather, my flu or I am just being too retarded. However, I did not stop serving through internet for eye candies!

I wish I could make some envelopes like this for my jewelry. It protects the jewelry well and is more environmental friendly. I have some felt at home. However it seems too thick to be as cute as the one from Martha's.
It will be C's birthday on Wednesday! I am preparing it ahead and bought him this lovely wallet. He just loves stripes a lot.

The TV meal

I am not feeling energetic today. It is likely due to my neighbour is having a renovation which drilling and banging all day long. Luckily, I have managed to wrap up all the delivery and prepare a quick dinner and have it during our TV craze of 宮心計

This is a photo taken by C.

I have added an egg to thicken the curry sauce which matches the shrimps and served with rice (mixed with whole grain rice). We are trying to have whole grain rice lately for a better diet.

Homemade curry sauce is easy. Here is for 2 persons.
  1. Sortie the 1/3 onion (I like to add some coriander)
  2. Add in 1 table spoon of mixed curry powder (I used Koon Nam Wah)
  3. In go the pan fried shrimps / meat
  4. Slow cook for at least 30 mins
  5. Add in coconut milk and cook until the sauce is thicken
  6. Salt and pepper
Done!

Blueberry Jam

One night, I cannot sleep and feel like cooking. So I snagged a little box of blueberry out from the fridge and made some jam. It feels so good every time I make jam. It is relaxing and joyful. Fruity sweetness just fill up your room. It makes me happier!

Moreover, homemade jam is just healthier with less preservatives.

1 portion of fruit + 1 portion of sugar + time and love = Yummy JAM

Crafty Corner

I love seeing other's handmade places / studio. I enjoy seeing creative ideas of storage. I would like my crafty corner to be more tidy. Perhaps, I am a housewife in heart =)

緊張的jujube

Photo: vintage brass earwire with fresh water pearl coins by love.jujube

Please fall in love with ME

I am very proud to announce my 2nd craft fair will be taken off on Nov 1, 2009!

I have prepared a new collection which is inspired with the mood of fall (or autumn in English), harvesting colors, high quality of 14k gold with detailed hammering work, leaves and feathers, luscious pearls and gemstones, dainty accessories for your perfect outfits at events and celebrations.

So please FALL in Love with JU JU BE! More details of the market, please click here.

I love aqua

My heart melts every time I see this lovely aqua with a vintage touch!

Nice cup and saucer from jaditekate - I love Jadite's stuff. I wish I am living in US. The shipping cost to Hong Kong is too expensive! Imagine: a lovely morning + tea + a nice vintage cup :)

Summer Dreams art photo from Kristybee - Kristy's photos are always soft and dreamy!

Pale blue modern clock from uncommon - I think I need a new clock on my pale wall!

Vintage tags from PaperEclectiques - These tags inspires me for the deco of my next craft show. (Yes, I am having a craft show in Nov. More about it later.)

Toothache

Toothache has bothered me since my trip to UK and mainland. Finally I made my appointment to the dentist. Surprisingly, dentist recommended to unplug not one but two "wisdom" teeth at the same time. After 2 weeks of painful experience, lots of ice cubes padding, mouth washing, I am free now!

A custom order for my friend's sis wedding. Very romantic and autumn, peacock fresh water pearls and crystals.

Vintage Books

I love these vintage books a lot. Books were so valuable that covers were hand painted, wrapped with details and taste. It makes scrolling around book stores nowadays is less interesting!
I heart these lovely botanical prints via Modish.

UK trip

I am back... from UK and then mainland China. And I survived from my surgery of unplugging 2 wisdom teeth the same time. (Thanks for the advices I read at cocoabean's.) I would love to share my UK trip with you while there are still stitches in my mouth. (horror, right! heeehhee)

Lovely flowers @ St. Pancras station.

We were waiting the train at Retford, no man land to Sheffield.

Lovely greens @ University of Sheffield

A comforting dinner at the resident room by myself. Better than a business dinner as a wife :) I would roll on the bed with my pjs stuffing in chips and reading my favourite magazine, Glamour!
